I have worked in early years for almost 30 years and as deputy manager split my time between the children and the office where I support Jo with the day to day running of the setting.
This year I celebrated 10 years at West Wycombe Preschool and have been part of 2 Ofsted inspections where we were awarded the grade outstanding. This only confirms for me that my place of work is very special indeed.
As Senco, I support the children, their families and the team to care for the children who require a little more help when they are with us.
When not at preschool my passions are reading, writing and baking. My ambition to be a published author is strong and with the amount of children’s books I have read in my 30 year career, I think I can spot a good book at 20 paces!
My children are my greatest achievements and also my proudest moments by far. Since becoming a mum I have learnt so much and as my children are 18 and 22 I’ve had lots of years to refine my parenting skills. Time with my friends, family, a kindle and an ocean view are when I’m at my happiest.
I feel lucky to have such a diverse job where I can be making dinosaurs out of play dough in the morning, helping a child to master a new skill by lunchtime and be knee deep in facts and figures in the afternoon!
