Our morning sessions begin by welcoming the children in and helping them to put away their belongings on the pegs. We support the children’s growing independence by helping them to say goodbye to parents at the preschool door with a key worker close by to offer emotional support if needed. Once settled children then choose an activity to engage in. At 9:30am the children split across two floors and have their morning registration time and sing a hello song.
From here the children free flow around the building engaging in the many different activities on offer across the four rooms and garden. Staff are in all he rooms playing with the children and supporting them to build up that all important vocabulary. We have a 1:1 activity each day which the children take turns to have a go at and this activity will focus on a skill we would like to teach the children in a smaller group.
Café time is the children’s snack time and this takes place between 9:30am-11am in the pre-school kitchen. The children wash their hands and come to café when they are ready and have a large choice of fruits and vegetables with water or milk to drink. Allergies and medical conditions can be catered for.
At the end of morning session the children going home at 12pm gather downstairs for singing, stories and to say goodbye whilst the children staying all day gather upstairs for games before lunch.
