At pre-school we are so proud of our children as they work hard to master their self help skills. From serving and chopping their own snack to helping each other with coats and shoes they try really hard to be independent. They have even been busy washing the dishes and cups after snack time! Well done everyone.
We have used our developing democracy skills to learn all about voting!
The children had a range of stories they wanted us to read so we took a class vote. The children lined up next to the story they wanted to choose and counted how many children were in each line . They were then able to tell the teachers which vote had the biggest number and which had the smallest number. The story with the biggest number is the one we enjoyed all together.
The children have had a wonderfully muddy walk in the beautiful West Wycombe Park!
We enjoyed jumping in lots of muddy puddles, running through streams, finding swans and cygnets on the lake and mushrooms in the woods. We used our listening skills to see if we could hear owls and foxes moving in the leaves and found a giant bear cave to explore Lots of our families joined us for our magical adventure through the secret door.
What a wonderful week the children have had making love heart cookies! They have practised cracking eggs, sifting flour, mixing and rolling dough. They were very yummy!
Every princess needs some down time & this shot shows just that. We are open to all children accessing all our resources, dolls are for both boys & girls as are the bikes, cars & train tracks. Using imagination, hand-eye co-ordination & design, the track that was finally created was amazing.
After the snow stopped us celebrating World Book Day, we changed the date, popped on our dressing up costumes & had a wonderful day. Surrounded by fantastic stories, predicting & changing the story endings & sharing our favourite stories, we had a great day.
