Treasurer Trustee

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Treasurer to oversee the financial management of our pre-school charity. This volunteer role is vital in ensuring the smooth running of the organization’s finances and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the charity operates within its means.
  • Budgeting: Assist with preparing budgets and providing financial insights to the committee.
  • Banking: Oversee banking activities, including managing payments and deposits.
  • Regulatory Compliance: File annual accounts and returns with the Charity Commission in a timely manner.
  • Financial Reporting: Present financial updates at committee meetings and prepare year-end accounts.
  • Ad Hoc Activities: Support the committee with any additional financial tasks as needed.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Strong organizational and numerical skills.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Committee Site Manager Role

Site Manager Role is for preschool committee member who oversees safety, maintenance of the building is responsible for governance and oversight, not carrying out day-to-day operational tasks. 

Key Responsibilities

Health and Safety Oversight

  • Monitor the condition of the preschool building, outdoor areas, and equipment.
  • Ensure health and safety issues are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Review reports of accidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns relating to the premises.

Premises Maintenance

  • Oversee the maintenance schedule for the building and grounds.
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance work are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the condition of fixtures, fittings, furniture, and play equipment.
  • Liaise with the preschool manager regarding maintenance priorities.

Compliance and Inspections

  • Ensure required inspections, servicing, and certifications are completed, such as:
    • Electrical safety testing
    • Oil safety checks
    • Emergency lighting inspections
    • Playground equipment inspections
  • Review records and reports from contractors.

Site Security

  • Monitor arrangements for site security, including:
    • Access controls
    • Gates, fences, and locks
    • Visitor procedures
    • Security of buildings and equipment

Communication and Reporting

  • Act as a link between the preschool manager and the committee on premises-related matters.
  • Provide regular updates to committee meetings.
  • Escalate significant health, safety, or maintenance concerns to the committee.
